Dundee Rep Engage Flashmob

Building Stronger Communities Event

V&A, Dundee

9th October 2018, 6:30pm

Our Artistic Director worked with Dundee Rep's Engage groups "Feel Good Fridays" and "Beautiful People", as well as Link Up Youth Dance Company to create a flashmob of dance and spoken word, based on the participants journeys with their groups.

Over a full day of rehearsals, Gemma brought the three intergenerational groups together to generate words and movements which represented their collective experiences. This was then performed at the "Building Stronger Communities" event at the V&A, Dundee in October 2018. The event celebrated projects funded by The Rank Foundation and the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust.

Video footage will be available soon.

Massive thanks for all your hard work, in such a short time, and inspiring enthusiasm to get us all motivated, confident and moving in ways that I never imagined I could! I'd only ever acted in a play among, on top and under an audience (in the upstairs room of a pub in Bristol) and really loved the very beginning of our dance when there were still audience members on the floor. Their responses were fascinating.
